Title of Position: Sales Representative

General Description of Position: Responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through closed accounts, an assigned territory. The individual will work within the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals.

Position reports to: Sales Manager

Individual Position Goals & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the sales of all products distributed by Alliance Paper & Food Service Equipment
  • Develops annual business plan in conjunction with the Sales Manager, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus the Sales Representative on meeting or exceeding sales quota
  • Sells conservatively and makes recommendations to prospects and customers of the various solutions the company offers to their supply requirements
  • Develops a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling on business owners, direct mail, email, and networking
  • Creates and conducts effective proposal presentations and RFP responses
  • Must attend all published sales meetings
  • Maintain customer records, using automated systems
  • Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain features, and solicit orders
  • Recommend products to customers, based on customers’ needs and interests
  • Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms
  • Estimate or quote prices
  • Advise customers of credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates
  • Consult with customers after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support
  • Provide customers with product samples and catalogs
  • Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ products, prices, and sales
  • Assists in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Position Interfaces with:

Customers, Warehouse Staff, Purchasing, Accounting, IT, Customer Service, Randolph and Lombard locations and Sales Staff

Required Attributes of Candidates:

Excellent communication skills
Must be a self starter with a high level of dependability
High level of organizational ability
Must have a “can do” attitude with a sense of urgency and dedication to the success of the operations
Ability to be flexible to provide coverage as needed
Promptness-arrive on time or early to all customer or company meetings
